# Invite your team

> Add members and understand workspace versus owner permissions.

# Invite your team

EvalGate is organization-scoped. Roles determine both the scopes a person
receives and which organization-level actions they may perform.

## Step 1 — Open members

Open **Settings → Members**.

## Step 2 — Invite

Member invitations are an organization-membership action. The current API
requires the **owner** role and the `admin:org` scope.

An owner can invite `viewer`, `member`, `admin`, or `owner`. The invited
person joins after accepting the invitation.

## Step 3 — Understand the administrative scopes

The two admin scopes intentionally mean different things:

| Scope | What it allows |
| - | - |
| `admin:workspace` | Operational workspace administration such as runners, provider/gateway operations, jobs, retention, and other day-to-day admin actions |
| `admin:org` | Owner-level organization membership and organization-wide settings; it also implies `admin:workspace` for older stored credentials |

Common product scopes remain narrower:

| Scope | What it allows |
| - | - |
| `eval:read` / `eval:write` | Read or change evaluation resources |
| `runs:read` / `runs:write` | Read or launch/cancel run workflows |
| `traces:read` / `traces:write` | Read or mutate trace/review workflows |
| `prompt:publish` | Publish prompt versions |
| `scorer:publish` | Publish scorer versions |

> [!NOTE]
>
> Unredacted raw log payloads remain an **owner-only privacy boundary**. Moving
> operational admin actions to `admin:workspace` did not widen raw-data
> access to workspace admins.

## Step 4 — Change or remove membership

Use the member-management surface for supported role or membership changes.
Owner-only membership mutations are intentionally separate from ordinary
workspace administration and are recorded in the audit trail.
